About

We are a community philosophy group inspired by the Philosophy in Pubs movement. The Leeds philosophy group, Thinking Allowed in Leeds (TAIL) ran an event as part of the Headingley Festival of Ideas, where a few of us decided it would be great to get an evening group going for those who can’t make the Monday afternoon sessions at Veritas in Leeds run by TAIL.

We aim to provide a place where people can ask questions. You don’t need any background in philosophy at all, or be the next Plato, you don’t even need any money as our meetings are free.

These groups are about giving everyone the chance to speak, or sit and listen if you’d prefer. Anyone can choose a topic for discussion. The only thing you need is the willingness to ask questions and an open mind.

We hope you choose to join us for a discussion one evening.
